Rev. Desmond Lionel Morse-Boycott was educated at Lichfield Theological College and, at the age of 17, entered the service of the West Sussex County Education Committee. He subsequently had a variety of jobs, including teaching shorthand, serving as an assistant curate at several locations, and contributing to newspapers.
